Application for admission during Years 7 - 11

Those parents who wish their child to be considered for entry should complete the form below, In-Year Application Form.  No more than one test can be sat in any one academic year.   In Year Application Form 2025-2026

On receipt, applicants will receive confirmation we have received the completed form.  

Applicants for the same year group will sit a series of tests at the school.  

For In-Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 these tests will be in English, Mathematics and Science. 

Year12 In Year Entry Form  This is for Year 12 in year admissions. The deadline for applying is Friday 27th March. If successful, applicants will be expected to complete their in year assessments on 5th and 6th May 2026.

Please note there are no specimen papers available.

The dates for testing will be as follows (Subject to change) :-

Year 7 and 8 - 7th January 2026 and 23rd June 2026

Year 9, 10 and 11 - 21st October 2025 and 17th April 2026

The tests will not aim to replicate the 11+ but will seek to establish whether the applicant can sustain the pace of the school’s classroom education and fit within the ability levels and parameters of achievement of the relevant year group. Places will be offered to the applicants with the highest scores deemed capable of meeting the aforementioned criteria providing there is a vacancy in the relevant year group.  

There is a right to appeal.

The application to join the school does not roll over from one academic year to the next - parents must complete an in-year application form afresh for each academic year they wish their child to be considered.  As mentioned above, the test can only be sat once in any academic year.
